Okay where do I start....
Let's go back about 5 and a half years ago, this is when I was told I had ubizo. I then ignored this for the next 4 or so years.
In the time of my ignorance I had my second child. My first born was in and out of hospital every second month before during and after my pregnancy with her little sister. It then started with my baby as well.
My husband and I took the hard decision of me going to twasa(begin initiation). Funny enough, once I started on this journey my beautiful girls were strangely well and still are (touch wood). It was not an easy decision but how do I continue relying on western medicine when I know the cause of them being sick?
Fast forward to my coming out ceremony (can't detail my initiation process as this is a secret). This was done as my mom's home in the Eastern Cape as the ancestors that blessed me with this gift are from her side of the family (she blatantly refused to accept her calling but that's a story for another day).
It was quite a time in my life when I Desseray McDonald never thought I'd be stabbing a cow or goat and all the other things that go with ukphothula but there I was.
Okay enough about me lol.
How do you know you have thd calling? It does not necessarily mean one has to twasa, it means something different for each person so seek guidance from those who lead you before you run off to be initiated.
Dreams: Snakes - not just any snake but inhlwathi, the brown one with black spots in my case. This snake should not bite you in your dream this means something completely different.
Water: Sea - Very powerful, you can be at the sea or in the sea but you feel a different kind of peace, there can even be people talking to you under the water.
Imphophoma /Waterfall : This is also a powerful one, you don't just go to these places, in my case a girl gave me my qakatha/short knobkiri here which I then got made with the specifics shown to me in my dream. Should you dream of these places seek guidance.
Isiziba/still water at a river : This is also a place you should not just go to...
Lions: Also sign of the calling
Elephant: Sign of the calling
If you take note everything in one's dreams take the form of a powerful animal or place. This just shows the cultural significance one can be walking with but taking lightly.
Think I will end there for now, unless I have further inspiration to write more.
